Description
Batteries manufactured using AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) VRLA technology, mainly for use in emergency power systems (UPS, automation systems), solar power installations and voltage source converters. They work best in floating charging systems, but can also be used in applications where batteries are cycled. For depth of discharge up to 50% they have approximately 650 duty cycles. The design lifetime is 8-10 years when operated at temperatures of approximately 20-25 degrees Celsius. AGM VRLA batteries are characterised by an internal structure based on glass fibre separators containing concentrated electrolyte. The separators are placed between the lead plates in the energy storage compartment of the battery. An additional feature of this type of battery is that it has an automatic sealing system (Valve Regulated). The valves open when excessive pressure is detected in the battery, causing the resultant gas to be safely vented outside the casing, preventing damage. This situation occurs most often when the battery is overcharged. The battery case is made of ABS material and the elements are made of copper.
