Description
The series of sine wave voltage converters is used to power electrical devices that require 230 V DC or car installation voltage 2 with 1 V batteries4. It works great in places where there is no direct connection to the mains. It can also be successfully used as an emergency power source for devices that require uninterrupted power supply, such as furnaces and central heating pumps.
The feature that distinguishes sine wave inverters from classic simple AC/DC converters is the generation of an AC voltage at the output with a sinusoidal waveform identical to that of the mains. This allows devices equipped with electric motors and transformers, such as power tools, pumps and small household appliances to be powered. Simple, inexpensive inverters actually produce a square wave voltage, sometimes incorrectly called a “modified sine wave”. This voltage is not suitable for powering inductive or capacitive devices and can damage them.
