Note!This gauge automatically measures galvanized steel, but does not indicate whether the steel is galvanized or not - this feature is provided by the GL-PRO-6-FAZ version of the gauge.
Modernity
GL-PRO-6 series meters are solutions based on modern 32-bit processors. As a result, fast and accurate measurements are provided, which are realized with a 12-bit converter.
The gauges use an innovative measuring probe design that allows point measurements on ferromagnetic and non-magnetic materials (depending on the version), automatically recognizing the material being tested and informing about the type of material on the display. The probe is closed with a so-called ball.
A distinctive feature of the GL-PRO-6-FAZ measuring instruments is the automatic recognition of whether the ferromagnetic sheet metal layer is coated with a zinc layer or is uncoated.This is very important when taking measurements on a car – it will reveal to us which body parts have been replaced with cheaper non-cycled ones. The probe has been completely developed by us.
The meter has a calibration function using thickness standards (included).
Measuring ASYSTENT®
The function shows the appraiser whether the car has had body and paint repairs done.
During measurements, the measuring device indicates with the help of an LED:
- the diode is not lit – normal color;
- LED is on – second layer of paint or putty.
It should be noted that the MEASUREMENT ASSISTANT® function is intended only as an aid to the interpretation of measurements, it cannot be used as a basis for a clear answer to the question of whether a car has undergone bodywork repairs. However, many car appraisers do not really know what a specific paint thickness means, so the function is intended to help do so.
HOLD FUNCTION
The function allows you to take a measurement and hold it. The HOLD function can be deactivated from the MENU.
The meters have two HOLD function modes:
- HOLD 1 – stops the measurement on the display until the probe is removed from the surface;
- HOLD 2 – pauses the measurement until the next measurement.
If the HOLD function is turned off, the meter performs continuous measurement.
Audio alarm
This is especially useful when taking measurements with the HOLD function turned on. After taking a measurement, the meter will inform you with a short beep. The beep can be turned off in the MENU level.

The measuring instruments have a spring-loaded measuring head that is designed to “slide” into the probe body when the probe is pressed against the surface being tested. This makes the measurements more accurate because the pressure on the test surface is more even. Hand vibrations are also smoothed out.
The measuring ball makes it easier to measure on curves.
The probe body is made of high-quality plastic, so it will last for years.

The calibration-zeroing function ensures that the measuring device will perform correct measurements under any conditions, even after several years of use.
Before taking measurements, you can calibrate the meter and be sure that the measurements will be correct.
The meter has compensation, so it automatically calibrates itself, but accurate calibration can always be done using a calibration plate.
Avoid meters without calibration plates – in such meters, the measurement error will soon increase, as the probe is subject to wear (wear) and will be further affected by the aging of electronic components. Therefore, even meters worth several thousand zlotys include calibration plates and a calibration function.
