PRTxxEM can be used as a proximity terminal connected to the main access controller or configured to operate separately as a simple access controller. In the first case, the functionality of the reader is limited only to reading the identifier (card/PIN) and sending the data to an external controller, which performs further actions. In the case of autonomous operation, PRTxxEM terminals can independently monitor one fragment based on the data entered during their configuration process.

The reader body consists of a front panel and a base. The new device is assembled on a standard stand, but an additional thicker stand (35 mm deep) is also supplied in the kit. This makes it easier to hide the connection cable, for example, if there is no built-in box at the controller installation site.
